R - The Gym

Ok, so I paid for the walk and I am officially sick!  I was only a little under the weather so Mark convinced me I should just go to the gym because it would make me feel better.  Wrong!

I did 20  min TM, 20 min arc trainer. 

I started to try to run a little bit on the TM but that was just not seeming like fun.  I did keep up decent energy with a fast walk though.  When I got on the arc trainer everything fell apart I just kinda plugged along just felt like I was doing my time for no reason.  Then when I was stretching I just didn't feel good.  You know, usually when you stretch it feels good right?  not so much today.

Random:  I kept being distracted by this guy on the TM he was running with his arms up and fists clenched.  Not moving his arms.  He looked kind of like a scarecrow.  He would do it for about 90 secs and then rest for 30 sec but leave the TM on.  So weird.

Anyway,  today has kinda sucked.  I've been sick.  Mark's been a bit grumpy and annoying me.  Christmas Eve now and I had a lame dinner and he's now at the firehouse.  I need to get to bed and get some sleep.  Whine whine whine.  :P  Life really isn't that bad.  I am just whiney.

R - Thursday Walk

Shouldn't have gone.... but I didn't really feel like working out and wanted to get Frankie a walk.  I knew this would be my last chance to go without Sara since today was her last day of school.

Anyway, we went to the inner loop of the horse trail at Wheaton.  It was so cold and windy.  It felt like the wrong thing to do.  I was listening to this podcast talking about how being in the cold makes you sick (for real) and I kept thinking... 'I'm feeling run down.  I shouldn't be out here!'

R - Zumb, again?

Yep, for the first time ever I decided to do Zumba twice in one week.  I was trying to get my friend Emily to come.  She always cancels... today was no exception.  I was so annoyed but since I was already planning on doing it I figured I'd go anyway.

I'd never been to Zumba at the Rockville location.  (I usually ony do it on Mondays at Olney)  It was weird.  I didn't like it.  Isn't it funny how you get used to things being one way and then even though it's the same instructor, same music etc. it just feels wrong.  Plus, all the people that go to Zumba seem lame.  Especially at Rockville.  Why is Zumba so attractive to the 50-60 year old white female crowd?  I did enjoy the class overall but felt lame going. 

I guess I'll just deal.  I can be a 50-60 lame female for an hour a week right?

R - Walk

Tuesday went for a walk at Wheaton Park with Cori.  I was so not into it but warmed up eventually and the walk wasn't too bad.  Cori got pissed I didn't really let her walk.  What a mean mom I am!

R - Zumba!!

On Monday I hadn't worked out it 4 days!  I did work every day though and I guess on Sunday I went for a very short walk  but it was lame.

I almost didn't go to Zumba but then I thought Andres would be back and he was!  I was all smiles.  What a great workout.  Arms were actually a little sore the next day!

R - 15th, the gym

I ended up doing a really intense workout this day:

10 min warm-up on arc trainer

4 rounds:
500 m rowing
36 lunges (18 per side)
20 push-up (10 regular/10 girl)

500 m then 10 min cool down on arc trainer.

Workout about killed me on round 4!!  My legs were getting a bit jelly like!

R - Back to the 14th!

wow!  Who knew it had been that long ago.  Tuesday, the 14th.  Ah, now it's coming back to me.  I ran to the gym and did a quick workout.  I think it was 20 min arc trainer and 20 min on the bike.  You actually inspired me to do some intervals during the bike... too bad I didn't think of this until the last 5 min of my workout.

New floor in the gym is lame.  My bike was bouncing.  OH well!

R - Slacker!

Man, I am so glad you found the blog and started posting.  I donno what happened to me but I fell off the wagon.  at least for posting.  Let me start an update.  Hehe... We'll see what I can remember....

A- Jogging/ weights- lower body

12/21/10
excited to go in, but a flat tire made me at least a half an hour later! grrrr.  anyhoo- started on the treadmill, 20 minutes, walked steep incline for 4 min, jogged for 7 min, walked for 3 steep incline, and jogged for 5 min, cooled down for a min walking.
Streched.
Lower Body weights:  
Incline Leg press. 70 pounds, 3 sets, 15 reps.  very hard for the last set.  Heavy and legs shaking.   Surprisingly, a little dizzy when I got up.  Again, not normal for me : /
Ballerina Deep squats.  20 pound barbell held in the middle of legs in from of pelvis.  4 sets of 10 reps.  Focused on good form.  SPENT after the 4 set. 
Seated Calf press. 140 pounds. 3 sets. 15 reps.
on the way home my leg involuntarily shook every time I clutched.

Hahaha... yeah so I'm long winded when I talk and even MORE long winded when I write... ;)

I figured out how to post! ;) Sunday workout

Okay, so Sunday Chris, Cole and I all went to the gym.  I did 20 min intense interval on a slightly different interval for a warm-up.  Stretched out then went to lift weights- upper body. 
Chest- 20 pounds dumbell incline press.  15 reps, 3 sets.
Biceps- (HAD TO UP IT from 12 ounds.  I've been stuck there for YEARS)
15 pound dumbells, Concentration curls, 10 reps, 3 sets.  I'm am SO sore today =D so it definetely shocked my body.  I'm very pleased ;)
Triceps- "Lying EZ Bar Extensions" (I think they're also called skull crushers?)  20 pound bar- tried 30 and couldn't keep form.  13 reps? 3 sets.  Hard at the end.  I've got some work to do - need more strength there...
By the end of this I really didn't want to do anymore.  I was exhuasted and shaky. Buuuuut I had to do my back, Mid and Lower, so off I went to "ol faithful".  Need new excersizes for these too...
Mid back- Seated Low Pulley- 40 pounds.  15 reps, 3 sets.Since I do this one almost EVERY time I work my back, I really concentrated on HOLDING and pausing to increase difficulty.  It worked!
Low Back- Back extentions on the little "brace" that holds you from the hips down...  Started with an 8 pound ball... first set.  Then nothing last 2 sets.  10 reps, 3 sets...  Cramping.
When i got up I almost fell over.  I was shaky and I NEVER get dizzy from working out- but today was different.   Stretched out my arms and shoulders then- Whew!  Chris drove home... I was pleasantly exhausted for the rest of the day...  Dizzynes gone once i ate ;)

R - Zumba

Nada on the working out over the weekend.  Worked a lot doing massage though.  Today was Zumba.  The sub is still here.  I like her but her moves are a bit harder than Andres.  Plus even though I like her she's not as fun to watch as Andres.

Signed up for the lottery to do the cherry blossom 10 miler and got in!  ack!  I totally wasn't expecting that.  ah well... better go get in shape!

R - Walk

I was going to skip today since I think I injured my right calf a bit jumping rope... but at the last minute Cori was talking about going for a walk so off we went!

Went to civic center... not bad not good... it was a little cold and Cori got really grumpy toward the end.  :(

R - The Gym

So I went the gym yesterday and wasn't into it.  My plan was to just to just do some lame cardio and at least have gone.  Well...  other things were in store for me.  The second floor of Fitness First was getting new flooring and therefore was closed!  So no locker rooms, no classes and most importantly no cardio equipment!!

So I wandered around a bit and pieced together a workout:

5 rounds:

1 min jump rope
20 kettle bell swings
20 push-up (10 regular 10 girl)
10-12 assisted pull-ups

Felt ok.  Not enough warm up time though.  Ended with an extra long bout of jumping rope making myself jump longer every time I messed up!  ack!
