R - Is it over?

It looks like neither one of us has been posting lately.  To be honest... I just haven't had any interesting/exciting workouts to post.  Same old thing.... Zumba... running, walking with Frankie.  I am trying to decide if I want to train for something... maybe Annapolis 10 miler in August... then I definitely won't be lifting much... it's too nice out to be in the gym.

Anyway, I did Zumba today... the class is getting out of hand... I swear there were 60 people there today!  Good workout though... just had to squeeze in!

A-Last Fri, Sat, this Mon, Tues(Legs), Wed.

Last Friday (today's Wednesday ) I did Zumba =)  Then Sat I did Kickboxing (chris ACTUALLy did the class with me hehe)
Sun rest- Mon- business day- decided to rest from working out to get organized- I don't regret it ;)

Tues, Legs- same as last leg workout but increased in jumproping, weights, and reps- WHOA am I sore today...

Wed- today - Cardio- 20 min stair climber, 3 sets of 100 jumps on the rope (unfortunately, I have welts on my right tricep since my right toe kept dragging and catching the rope! lol)  Then 20 arc trainer.  Interval setting- I was going pretty hard- my legs were TIRED so I was using my core a lot.

R - lame

This past week has been a big lame blur.  Let's see:

Today was Zumba.  I couldn't get into it today for some reason.  Maybe it was the change in music.  Maybe it was because I was by the door.  I also think I cold be PMSing... Who knows.  What I do know is that I am glad I at least went!

Sun - short walk.  Not much just me/Frankie/kids

Sat- Run a' muck.  Wasn't into it this year but since I signed up and paid for it I did it.  It wasn't as good as last year and I didn't feel like getting muddy.  Some guy actually yelled at me for not getting muddy.  :P

Fri - nada

Thur - lame cardio!  I just couldn't get it together.  I did 10 min arc trainer, the 20 min bike and was gonna give up but forced myself to do TM.  Treadmill I forced myself to push it a little but overal my intesity = low

A- Mon(core), Tues(legs), Wed, Thurs(upper body)

Much needed rest on Sund...  Then Mon was a core workout day with my personal trainer.  Kinda lame, as she was trying to help me figure out the excersizes that I could do (and it what order according to the firing of the abs) but we never actually DID them... So I did them after our time - took about 35? min.  Tried jump roping into my ab supersets cause I knew I wouldn't have time for a longer cardio but I kept getting sharp pains in my sacrum. sp?     Did okay- REALLY like the excersizes- had NO idea how week my upper abs are cause I always work my lower and "side" abs.

Tues was the same workout that I did last leg workout, but I added supersets of jumproping to the first and last set. It was intense!  Loved it =) 

Wed 20 min steps, and 25 min laps.   Tried out a new bathing suit.... NOT so good for some strokes. ;)  My boobs were flyin all over the place! lol!  (obviously, I didn't do those strokes anymore ;))  Then swimming with Cole... =)  He LOVED it!

Thurs... feeling a little lame on the cardio... Just did upper body (same as last week- but I added an extra rep of push ups, used 40 pounds instead of 30 pounds on my tri/bi cable ropes and added a set to total it to 4!)

Tomorrow eve I'll try to make a class so I can get in some good cardio.

R - run

ran out side in the woods today with Frankie!  IT was awesome (but a little humid)  I am not complaining.

Did Zumba yesterday (it killed me)

Sun - Came back from Ohio - ack!  what a LOOONG day

Sat - Worked out at the Rec center in Ohio.  It was kind of a bummer because I have been having this piriformis pain and then all of a sudden I had a piercing pain in my ankle.  IT's gone a way but kinda ruined most of my workout.  Felt good to be there did 20/20/20 bike/stairmaster/arc.  ALso, good to get away from the kids.

Fri- ran for 30 min... desperately needed to escape.  Thankfully Mark let me.  :)

Thu - not much but enjoyed the pool at the Rec center with the kids.

Wed - traveling to Ohio

Tue - Walk with Frankine and kids

Mon - Zumba!!!  yay!!

A 4/23 Cardio at home

Did wii fit for 15 minutes- then cole got very impatient with watching me do the hoola hoop and cardio routines.

Then one to Dance for little kids.  Did those for another 15 or 20?

then over the next half hour did 4 sets of 100 jumps with the rope. Could barely finish the last set as my legs are getting stiff from yesterdays leg workout  =) 

A/C broke and they came out withing HOURS of me calling- love this new company- they just had to make some pressure adjustments from the initial install.  =)  SO glad to hear it's an easy (and free! fix)

A 4/22 Legs and cardio

Supersets:
1) 
DB 10 pounds each/squats, 12 reps 3 sets
Jump squats, 12 reps 3 sets
jumprope, jumping to 100 each set

2)Legpress:
Wide, middle, and calfs - 45 pound disc, 12 reps each set, 4 sets

3)
Walking lunges, 18 steps, 3 sets
curtsy squats, 18 total,  3 sets
jump rope, 100 jumps per set, 3 sets.

Walking for 20 minutes... felt a little like hurling towards the end of my walk- glad I didn't do anything hardcore for my cardio.

Cole was VERY good in child care today- a RELIEF for me to hear.  I think he really got the talks that we had regarding NEVER hitting baby's

A 4/21 Cardio/core

this was a rough day...  I wanted to do supersets of jumproping (counting to 100 jumps each set) then do core excersizes.

10 minutes into it, a nice childcare lady told me Cole kicked a baby in the face.  i was shocked and so disterbed ( I kept working out for another 20 minutes as they said I didn't need to come get him and that he was just crying from feeling guilty)  But the whole time I had trouble concentrating. I had more "workout in me" but my heart was aching for Cole- it was clear to me that the fact that he got kicked in the face this last Mon (twice!!) really WAS affecting him...  Plus I was also REALLY mad that he had lashed out on a baby.  (baby was okay by the way- no bruise- he kicked her in the cheek- lightly- but STILL!!) ...

Anyway I quit at 30 minutes. ended up doing a total of 6, 100 jump, jumprope sets between 6 other sets of core  (caterpillers- 4 sets, 2 times) (laying down leg lifts 2 different types- 2 times each, 3 sets for each  time.

that sounds really confusing - wish I knew names for some of the core stuff. mostly leg lifting and hips/leg lifting/

A 4/20 Upper Body with Trainer.

I'm pleasantly sore again - not too badly though- I love how she brings me to that middle ground of recovery the next day- not CRAZY sore like most of the other trainers I've had. 

Started with Superset-

Wide pullups and pushups- 12 reps each (pullups assisted #13) 3 sets

Cable Flys or DB (20pounds cable, 15 flys - our machine got bogarted ;))  and seated Row 50 pounds.  12 reps for each set 3 sets.

Non super set- overhead press... holy hell.  That was HARD.  I needed assistance for the last set.  3 sets, 15 pounds, 12 reps

Supersets tri/bic rope/pulley.  30 punds, 12 reps

Good stuff!  

I'm excited to have a leg and upper body workout to do for the next 3 weeks.  She's going to show me core next week... I'll be ALL rounded out for my workouts =)

Loved it, as always.  Only weird thig was I was underneath the ceiling fan.  Felt like I was in a monsoon! 

Also, Awesomely productive day (gave 4 massages AND cleaned the house)!

I ran Pike's Peek 10K!!!

Felt so good to do real exercise after being sick.  I totally redeemed my horrible Cherry Blossom time.  I did 9:30 pace.  Not awesome but pretty good especially considering I was sick all week and hadn't run for two weeks!  ack!

A- Yesterday and today

(I actually went to the gym yesterday too, but it was only 20min on the eliptical- barely worth mentioning/counting)

Today- 20 arc trainer, 20 stair master.

Felt great to sweat... strange as it may seem, with all the crap in my broncials, I actually breath clearer when I'm on the machines!   Nice =)

A- Wed Arms

Warm up walk for 10 minutes... felt good- made me want to run. grr.

Arms- supersets:

 Flat bench- 45 pound bar, 4 sets- (wide, middle, narrow, middle), 10 reps.
Bent over BB row- 35 pound bar. 4 sets. 12 reps

Straightbar Triceps pull downs- 40 pds. 4 sets 12-13 reps.
Staright armed pull down. 60 pds, 10 reps 4 sets

Pullups- #14/76 pds assis.  10 reps,  3 sets (middle, narrow, wide
Dips- #11/58 pds assis.  10 reps 3 sets

Biceps, rotating culrs,26 reps (13 each arm) 10 pounds, 3-4 sets??? arg.
Straight armed lift (in front) 8 pounds, 12-13 reps, 3-4 sets???

5 minutes cardio- I was done.  Feet were cramping from training witht the trainer the day before!

A- tues, Personal Trainer!

Whew!  She rocked.  Her style was more like Mark's than the other 2 guys I've used. =)  She pushes me, but encourages me to listen to my body.  Plus she showed me some kick as supersets for legs and answered so many questions that I had regarding training, intervals, glutes...
War up on the rec bike, 10 min.
Supersets:
DB Squats, 10 pounds each, 12 reps, 3 sets.
Squat Jumps, no weight, 10 reps, 3 sets.

Wide leg press, 45 pounds, 10 reps 3 sets
Close press, 45 pounds, 10 reps, 3 sets
calfs, 45 pounds, 10 reps, 3 sets

Walking lunges, no weights- the length of the basketball court.  2.5 sets.
Cursty Squat, no weight, 10 reps, 2.5 sets ;)

20 minutes arc trainer.  reeeeeeaaaaally didn't want to do it. but I did anyway. ;)

I'm sore but not dying today (wed afternoon)  very pleased!!

R - blah

I was just not motivated today.  I wanted to take Frankie out but it was all rainy so I went to the gym.  Warmed up on arc trainer for 10 min.  Was gonna do the erg as part of my workout but after about 100 m I decided to bag it at 500 m.

Random stuff four rounds:

Assisted pull-up x 10 -12 (first round only did five, I guess I needed more assistance!)
crunches x 20
jack-knife ball thing x 15
push-up (10 girl/10 boy)
body weight squats x 20

It was ok... not crazy intense... considering doing the tabata squat workout but not ready to be that sore right now.  Hamstring still a little tight/sore from the run on Sun.

R - Crazy week!

I have been so crazy this week I have barely worked out.  I think the last time I went was Wed morning w Frankie?

Thursday I went to the Cherry Blossoms with the kids... man that was kind of a workout.  THen I broke my ipod... luckily it was under warrenty and I got a new one!

Friday - I went to a hearing for Sara's old school to help out (they are trying to expand)  Then worked all day so no workout!

Saturday - My dad came and we did laminate flooring all day!

Sunday - Cherry Blossom 10 miler!! (plus two miles walking to and from metro)  It was awesome and sucked all at the same time.  My friend Amy got there really late so we ended up starting in the last wave.  We were going to take it easy and not try to run fast and do the 'run/walk' thing.  I think since we started so far back AND there were so many people we ran even slower!  It was an awesome day to run.  Beautiful weather.  I was just a little sad that our time was BEYOND sucking.  I think I am going to do a 10k in two weeks to try to make up for the horrible time!  Must run faster!!  ;)

Monday - Nada, Kinda bummed I didn't get to do Zumba because Sara and Cori had a dentist appt!  Not sure when I will have time to do Zumba again.  This week the timing is all bad.  :-(  Hopefully sometime soon!

A- Zumba

1 full hour of Zumba- went to Jean- the sucky lady, but I was prepared for her this time.  I just stopped trying to follow her sometimes cause she's jus so damn spastic lol.  anyhoo she incorporated weights and squats and shoulder work into the last 10 minutes- whoa... pretty goo d all over workout =)

Tried to do bike after this but I felt like i was gonna hurl! just enjoyed my stretching and went home.

Seeing a personal trainer tomorrow- excited!!

A- Sat Kickboxing and more.

45 minutes of hardcore, butt hurting kickboxing lol.
30 minutes recumbant bike and some core work.

Done. Chit chatting with the "cool" people as we did our bike together by the way.  Again, it's clearly not personal, they just don't take "workout plans" with me seriously.  Oh well! =)

A- Fri, Back and bi's, cardio

Again, supposed to meet them around 12 for lifting- the chick even texted me this time.... they were done lifting by 12 so I ended up doing the bike with them for 30 minutes before my lifting session. 

At this point, i'm kinda don't making plans with them- Plus, I don't like asking the guy for "what to do" as I know he's okay with helping me, but he's not 'happy' to be doing it- basically i don't want to warm out my welcome or annoy him ;)  

There's this chick who works out all the time with her girlfriend and she's a trainer at the Y, so I finally just asked her to train me. Left her a message and I'll get a few sessions in. (40 bucks a pop- not too bad!!)

Anyhoo- sorry for the long post.

Today I did recumbant bike for 30 min, weight loss setting level 5?  don't remember.
Reverse pullups- 4 sets supersetting- (2 reg and 2 "girl style" with my knees bent and feet flat cause I'm just NOT that hardcore ;)) 8 reps each.

Mid back- seated low pulley- 50 pounds, 13 reps, 3 sets.
Bicep curls(where you roate your wrists?  don't know what they're called) alternating hands for each rep.
3 sets of 26 reps (counting unilaterally).
DB front raises for sholders- palms down.  8 pounds.  3-4 sets?  13 reps.
Straight arm pull down for lats- my triceps where BURNING too =)  40 or 50 pounds? ugh.  memory. gone. 3 sets. 13 reps.

Handstands, holding front lunges and one deep middle squat...
Good Streching today... my legs/hips feel more open again.  

A- Thursday Chest and Tri's

No cardio today... was supposed to meet up with the "cool' people after their run so we could lift together, but they showed up late (skipped running due to the tornados and rain yesterday) and I wasn't gonna wait for them so I worked out with just Chris =)

Flat, Incline, Decline Benches- 45 pd long bar- 3 sets each (each bench used 3 diff hand positions- wide, reg narrow) 15 reps. 

Dips- 70 pounds assisted.  15 reps, 4 sets.

standing above had tricep extensions with cable/bar.   - 30 pounds.

Anyhoo- leggs

Quads- exten 4 sets, 15 reps, 30 pounds
Ham  curls, prone, bilateral.  35 pounds 4 sets, 15 reps.

Alternating sets of ballarina and reg aquats to make 4 sets total.  15 reps, 10 pound barbells in each hand.

Some form of cardio... can't remember!   I think PMSing makes me loose my brain.  It's allllll mushy in here lol

R - running

Went to lake frank with Frankie!  Pretty decent run.  I think everything will be ok on Sunday.  At least I hope! 

R - tueday = nada

Kinda bummed 'cause I did want to workout.  Instead I went and got laminate flooring.  I went up and down my stair 18 times carrying flooring.  Does that count?  :P  hehe... not really.

R - Mon Zumba

I am kinda annoyed they changed the time to later.  It was still a decent workout but he went to an old routine (the one you did when you came)  This was ok but I think it's my least favorite line-up.

Oh forgot to mention my shoulder is all jacked up and Zumba did not make it feel better.  I went to the asian reflexology place on sunday (one of my clients gave me a gift card)  anyway I think that guy hurt me somehow.  :(  kinda sucks.

R - Sun = mostly nothing

I did go for a walk with the family.... but it was short... hardly exercise!

A- Mon, cardio

First day wearing anything but flipflops since Friday. 

Did a hardcore (meaning I got very sweaty and was pretty winded) arc trainer session for 30 minutes.  Weight loss level 7.

Core-   Hanging leg lifts. 3 sets total- one front, one left, one right.  10 reps.  Slow and controlled...
Floor wipers, 2 sets of 20 (counting unilaterally) 30 pnd EZ bar.
Planks- holding up 1 leg at a time... 2 minutes totall.. not much.

 Home to a VERY grouchy husband. grrrr.

R - running.

7 miles woo hoo!  made it with really no troubles hopefully this means good things for next weekend! 

Also gave 4 massages.  I am tired!!  long day...

A- Friday March 25 More Sprinting.. total 2.5 hour workout.

Friday was supposed to be running 6 400 meter!!! Well I can't breath (and keep form because of that) past the 200, so I did 6 200 with 200 walking in between each one.  (did one as a warm up before stretching too- then the 6...)

The group I was with decided they were too tired to lift but i was good and wanted to w..o. Bi and back, so I ate an apple and rested for 5 minutes then:

Assis Pullups (3 sets) 1 Each - Wide, reg palms facing me, hammer style pullups.   #14 76 pounds assisted, 12 reps.

Bent over row- 45 pound long bar. 2 sets, 12 reps.   Wasn't sure about my form, so I didn't finish with a thrid set.  I'll look into it so I know I'm doing it right.

Cable machine- Unilateral bent over rows.  30 pounds, 3 sets 12 reps

Widegrip cable pulldowns, behind the neck.  40 pounds, 3 sets 12 reps.  Felt a bit light but I was focusing on form as I haven't done those since 2005!
 
Easy bar looking attachment biceps curls on the cables. 30 pounds, 12 reps, 4 sets.  Difficult, but really enjoyed the burn =)

At least, supersets of: 
Straight armed lifts in front (palms down) and lateral- again palms down.  4 sets total (2 of each) 8 pounds DB.

Today is sat and I'm very sore- mostly my feet and soleus are very sore, so I feel like tripping on my feet a lot and dragging my feet ;)   glad to be resting.... Thanks for the advice! I go fitted and I'm now a 6.5!! So I got a 7 of these REALLY lite Nikes, that don't even hurt my toe now, even with the swelling and bruising.

I'm excited to try them out.  What's funny is that the 6's that I wear feel FINE and I never have trouble with them, even running for 45 minutes on the treadmill.  So i'll keep those for lifting and inside gym cardio.  but for running outside, I'm using my new Nike's =)

A 3 hours of sprinting, rec. bike, triceps and chest, and core

Holy HELL =D  I feel like I'm training to run a marathon.  My legs are already sore (hamstrings and adductors, and calfes sp?)   Working out with this cute couple... they are both super hot and in reaaaaaally good shape- luckily for me- he has a hamstring injury and she's new to sprinting so I'm not tooooo far behind...
For the warm up, we ran ... I can't even remember... my mind is mush we were at it for so long lol
Then we did all these football training excersizes designed to activate different muscles in the legs.
then we did 6 200 meter sprints with walking the 200 meters back.

Then we stretched, and went into the gym, did the rec bike for 15 minutes- easy, level 5 quick start...

Then off to do 13 sets (12 reps each)  for chest and tri's.
Bench press- each bench we wide, reg, and narrow grip to make. 3 sets. 12 reps.  I used just the long bar- 45 pounds.  Incline, decline and reg.

Then off to the cable flys- 3 sets- one each of lower, mid and upper.  20 pounds, 12 reps

tri's - ez bar attachement- 4 sets, 30 pounds, 12 reps.

Core- 2 sets of full pikes.  1 half pike  set - 8 reps each.  2 sets of the rollers- 8 reps.
Then the thing that you can hook your ankles in to do back extentions- we used those for side extentions- 3 sets (each side) 10 pound bar bell, 10 reps each.

Whew!!   And i'm going back tomorrow to do 400 meter sprints!!! I don't know (just like I didn't today) how I'll do. I'm gonna be sore as hell- but I'm gonna give it my all =)

A- Wed Legs, cardio

went with Chris again, but sent him to do his own thing on the machines...

Bar bell (the slider one on the rack) Squats- - toes out, wide stance...  Loved it, but it sorta pinched the tops of my rods so I won't be doing that again...   20 pounds total, 13 reps, 3 sets.

Supersetted-
 jumping lunges.  3 sets of 20.
and low wide side to side squats.- 30 no weights. these I did 4 sets of.

then the arc trainer for 20 minutes.  again, i quick one... 

R - TM

Rainy day today plus I have Cori sooo I just went to the gym and ran on the TM.

3.5 miles with .5 Cool down.  Mostly ran 5.5 - 6.1 (closer to 6.1)  Was trying to take it easy today but it really didn't feel easy at all!

Felt good when I was DONE!

R - Zumba

Yes I did it again.  2 x this week.  I am so due for some serious lifting.  I haven't done any in ages but I also need to run again before the weekend.  Only a week and a half before the big run!

I found one of the songs he does online and have become strangely obsessed with watching youtube videos of it.  It's called:  Dança Da Mãozinha   I don't know if you've done that one but it keeps getting faster and faster.  Kinda silly but fun.

R - Tue

Walk w Frankie.  Awesome day.  Ran into a acquaintance/coworker of mine who has two dogs by crazy chance!  We had talked a couple weeks ago and figured out we both walk there sometimes but never crossed paths.  Then waddaya know?  We did!

I let Cori walk the second half so not much exercise there!  We had a good time though.

R - Monday (Zumba)

So they changed the time of the Zumba class!  :(  I stated to do the 'body pump' but bailed and went to the grocery store and came back for Zumba.  Once I am in the Zumba mind set I must do Zumba apparently!

Random - Andres was wearing these weird white cargo capri pants today.  First time I have seen him wear anything but black.  He should really stick with black.  white cargo capris = not so flattering especially when sweaty!

R - Sunday (20th)

Ran a 10k!  woo hoo!  It was hilly and a lame course but we did pretty well all things considerd (I ran it with my friend Amy)

R - Fri Sat

Nada, kinda lame.  I wanted to rest but maybe not quite that much!  Did work though and got my life a bit more organized!

A Cardio

20 minutes stair climber, level ?  fat burner...  loved it...

20 minutes arc trainer... uhg.  the balls of my feet were hurting/burning the last 10 mintues.   

Stretched and got outta there...   Short day- wanted to keep it light since I sorta pulled a muscle in my left shoulder, neck area from looking to my right and talking for 15 minutes on the eliptical with my buddy a few days ago...
 Today I'll do legs... then a break and a 2 hour massage tomorrow

Pool day =)   Chris and I shared a lane- it was crowded today-  I swam for a little over 40 minutes =)...

All different kind of strokes and a little water "running".  Kinda funny cause I'm a little to short... I end up floating through some of it.

Im a RUNNER ;) (almost)

Okay, really didn't want to run, but wanted to do cardio for an hour today, so I figured, "what the hell?"

Inerval/sprint running on treadmill....
25 minutes, 2 miles.    (1 minute at 3.1 then 2 minutes at 6.1-7.0)

Potty break as I was ready to puke =P  Blaaaa.

Felt like running again... just to see if I could lol

20 minutes, 1.67 miles.

Finished with eliptical, interval, 15 minutes. 

I am sooo happy to know that I can run a 12.5 minute mile.  I know it's not very impressive to most runners, but to me, I now KNOW that I can run... I can actually start training to run more/faster =)

A 3.18- Fri Upper body

Worked out with Chris again... it's kinda slow going when we have to share a bench. =P

Anyhoo- 

Super sets of:
Chest: bench press, 40 pounds, 3 sets, 15 reps.
Biceps: Hammer curls, 12 pounds, 3 sets, 13 reps
Non supersets:
Triceps:  Skull crushers, (tried 30- too much) 4 sets 13 reps
Wide lat pulldowns- to chest, not behind head.  50 pounds 3 sets, 15 reps

20 minutes on the Arc trainer.   Done!

A missed Zumba lol!

This time change is messin up our whole house for sleep schedules... without preschool or an early morn job to MAKE us adjust, we're just doing everything later (smh)

Today Chris wanted me to help him/walk him through working out his legs- gently.  He's trying to get his legs stronger since he has en injury in one knee...

We did all machines (I know- lame!) but he gets into pain using lunges and squats and such... so- everything I do below, he did, (at his own weight setting of course)

5 hindu pushups (just for fun ;))  wanted to see if I could do ANY

Hamstrings- seated leg flexion- 50 pounds, 3 sets of 15.  This was challanging for sure! 

Quads- seated leg ext.- 45 pounds.  3 sets, 15 reps.  Wow- this always BURNS my quad attachment at the knee.

Groin adduct seated- 55 pounds, 4 sets, 15 reps
Groin abd seated-  50 3 sets, 15 reps.  hard!

Glute machine- bent over/prone? (I had chris use the ankle straps/cables as he was too BIG to fit into the machine lol!)  25 pounds, 3 sets 13 reps... this was very hard.  Perhaps because i'd already done so much?

Calf, seated press- 150 pounds, 3 sets, 15 reps.

10 minutes of the spin bike- never used it before .... my legs were on FIRE.  Hated it lol

7 hindu pushups, handstands, 7 hindu pushups (not doing the full swing through for most of them- just a wierd butt in the air push up), and finished with handstands again...

A- missed my workout window

Maaaaaan I forgot that the childcare closed at 8pm.  Got carried away visiting my friend int he hospital with her newborn- it was worth it ;)  I'm just not motivated enough to do the Wii Fit with Cole after his bath (he's in the bath right now (8:40 pm).... 

Oh well!  At least I got to hold a tiny baby... Still wished I could'a worked out though.  At least I have Zumba tomorrow am  =)

A- Running =) Tues the 15th

Ran for 2 15 minute increments- interval style ( had to take a potty break at the 15 mark uuhg)
Walked 3.1 for 1 minute and ran for 2 minutes 6.1.  Made it much easier to keep form and go for such a long time.  I normally don't go longer than 20 minutes =)

Then did 20 min on the stair master- level 7, fat burner. Loved it!

medicine ball planks (hands on ball) with unilateral leg tucks... (bringing each leg under me for 10 reps)  Did 3 sets of this.
Between these sets I did handstands against the wall.  Love the balancing =)

R - Zumba

Yay!  I was sad I missed Monday (had to work).  Anyway, I thought Andres was a little low energy today...  Boy was I wrong.  It just took a minute for him to warm up.  Then he was insane!  I donno where he finds the energy but he does.

Killer workout... could hardly catch my breath.  In some ways it's worse once you know the routine.  Then you know what's coming AND you are that much better at it!  ack!

I gave myself the day off.  I keep feeling over-trained lately even though I don't feel like my workouts have been that crazy.  oh well.

Just went to Wheaton with Frankie.  Pretty uneventful - wasn't into it but glad I did something!

R - running outside! woo hoo!

So on Sunday, I got my butt outta bed early (daylight savings and all) and ran 5 miles with a friend!  woo hoo!  We were sooo slow and went to DD afterwords but hey we went!

Saturday - I went for a walk with Sara and Cori.  Really I can't count that as exercise.  Cori was walking the whole time!  Ah well... nice day at least.

A- Mixing it up

Didn't really know what to do today... looked up some '300' excersizes and here's what I did:

Staggard and other Pushups =)   4 sets total.  First set man style, staggard. Sec set man style- wide. third set femal style, staggard.  4th set female reg arm postition.

V-Up abdominals- 4 sets of 20

Then went into the b-ball gym to do suicides, but lady was cleaning the floor... so I did:
(Alternating Squat Jump)
Jump squats- 3 sets of 15... oi!  that was challenging.
Jump/alternating  lunges- 3 sets of 15

Pullups- 15 Hammergrip (about 40 pounds assist) , 15 wide grip (60 some pounds assist)
Kneeling band Row.  4 sets of 20 with the Green band... shoulda used the blue thick one ;)

Cardio- 5 min row at level 10- BORED outta my mind.
15 min fat burning step machine- much better =)  level 7

A Cardio

Really didn't want to do indoor cardio- but it's too cold to swim...

30 min weight loss on the arc trainer.  Pretty bored at the last 10 minutes but pushed through it =)

15 reg Bike... I felt so awkward!  Kept sliding forward for the first 5 minutes ....  Got the hang of it and then had to adjust the level- 6 was too high, 4 too low. 5 was juuuust right.

Stretched and DONE.

May rest tomorrow... Cole's sick so I have to have Carmen with him to go. not ideal regarding $

A Upper body and cardio

5 Min warm up - arc trainer

4 Supersets, 15 reps each for Bis and Tris

Bi'sReverse Curls, 20 pounds... felt pretty good- I do wish there was a 25 pound ez bar...
Tri's tricep pulldowns with rope.  Started at 30 but upped it to 40.  Muuuuch better =)  I wasn't getting ANY burn...

Lat pulldowns (straight armed, in  front of my body)- 4 sets. 50 pounds (first 2 sets at 40- felt too light.) 15 reps

Flat DB flys... 3 or 4 sets? 12 pound DBs. 15 reps I think so... it's all a bluuuurr today.   Cole is sick, so I went to the gym without him.  (Carmen is watching him =))

Military Press (seated) 4 sets, 15 reps 15 pound bar- close grip to target the mid and rear delts.  REALLY felt it once the form was right- took over a whole set to get my form right since this is the first time I've ever done these ;)

Floor washers- 4-5 sets?? again with the memory... I lost count after 3...  30 pound bar, 20 reps (one side is one rep, so counting bilaterally, it was 10 reps each ;))

Eliptical- interval... 30 min... I chilled reading my kindle- got a good sweat in =)

A ZUMBATHON!!!

Whooooohooo =)  Had so much fun... I wish every Zumba class was 90 minutes!  It started at 10- went to 12... I got there just after 10:30- they had 3 different instructors so it just didn't get old (oh and the sucky ladie was NOT one of the teachers! I was soooo happy to see that)

R - Sore!

Man, I am so sore today from that running!  It's my ankles, hams, and neck!  The neck is the annoying part.  I think I was probably running way too fast, especially when it was on an incline (I was doing random)  plus I held on with one hand part of the time.  I know, totally lame move.  Next time - slower and no holding on at all!

Anyway, it's all rainy here today and I really didn't want to go to the gym but I knew it'd be good for the sore muscles plus I know I won't have time tomorrow.  So I sat in the gym parking lot   forever and finally got the energy to go!  I should've lifted today but just felt too sore so more cardio:

Did 20 lame min on arc trainer
4 x 500 on erg w/ 1 min 'rest'
3 min on one bike 9 min on another

The recumbent bike was so annoying the first one I got on get losing tension and after three min I got so annoyed and went to another one.  I was just gonna do 10 min but of course at 9 min the childcare came to get me because Cori was crying.  So even though I had done 3 min on the lame bike I felt like my workout was shortchanged by a min because of Cori.  so silly!  I could have gone back and done another min but that would seem more silly.

Glad I went.  Feeling a little less sore.  I think the erg helped.

A Cardio and other stuff

Started with Pikes (with a ball- alll the way up onto my toes... I don't bring my knees under me)
3 sets of 8. 

planks with unilateral legs lifted, and pulsing out.  I did one set per side and 15 reps.
Plank on fists.  one set
Plank on finger tips.   one set

Handstands... LOVE these =)  up against the wall for safety, but I try to balance so I don't rest on the wall at all... a nice fun little workout for my shoulders, arms and core.

Running 9 minutes- interval.  walk one, run 3.  (6.1mph and 3.1mph)

Arc trainer - 25 minutes.  fat burner. Maaaaaan was it slow today.  Probably cause I was kinda neasuous and my feet hurt.  But I made it through!

Recumbant bike- 15 minutes.  random hill, level 7.  got to read my book with this one- and it gave my feet a break- enjoyed this part.

Felt some cramping in my guts... turns out my aunt flow came to visit... luckily just in time- no humiliating "Carrie Steven King" moment =)  plus that explains my aches...

R - Running!!!!!!!

AHHHH!!!

Yep I went running.  It's too freakin' cold so I just did the TM.  Ran 3.2 miles in 30 min and then almost another mile during my "cool down" total = 4.44 miles.

That was some hard stuff!  I kept it between 6 and 7 most of the workout.  I am feeling a little better about the 10 miler.  I hope my knees/hamstrings aren't too mad at me tomorrow!

Went to Wheaton Wood w Frankie and Cori.  Decent walk nothing exciting except I think there was a goose giving unwanted advances to another.  or maybe she was playing hard to get?  I donno, but the one was rather relentless in his chase.

A lower body and cardio

Started with the

seated leg press- the one that focuses more on hamstrings than quads...  3 sets, 50 pounds, 13 reps.  Challenging!

Leg extention machine/cable.    50 pounds, 13 reps, 3 sets- again very challenging!

Leg adduction (ant and post), and abduction with ankle leather cuffs and cable.  The abd was 20 pounds, and add was 25 pounds.  3 sets, 15 reps each.   (startin with right leg- abd, then ant add and post add.  switch to Left leg.- that;s one set.)

Seated calf press with the pads on the knees.  20 pounds - 4 sets, 20 reps.  SHoulda gone up in weight.  Kept thinking it would get harder lol  ;)

20 bunny hops, front and side kicks- 15 each/plus each leg, 30 mountain climbers.

Cardio- eliptical, 20 minutes, interval- kicked my ass! I worked sooo hard =)  loved it.

A Cardio, again ;)

I've decided I'm trying to work out 6 days a week... I know... I'm craaaaaazy haha.
But I want more results in the slimming arena ;)  I don't care if I lose pounds, just inches.  Thus upping my weights and cardio....

Started with the arc - level 7, 30 minutes, fat burner

recumbant bike- level ....?  6? 11?  I honestly can't remember... arg.   anyhoo did that, random hills for 30 minutes.  Loved reading my new Kindle! it made the time go by soooo fast...

R - YAY!!! today!!! - Gym

Finally caught up.  Today was just cardio in the gym  Started lame on the arc trainer 20 min.  Rec bike I actually got pretty intense with some intervals.  7 miles in 25 min.  The last 5 was supposed to be cool down but I cheated a little ;)

Oh here's something exciting, but not exercise related.  I went to Rio Grande for lunch via the ICC.  woo hoo!  I am livin' large! ;)  I know you are envious of me.

BTW I am supposed to do the Cherry Blossom on April 3rd.  It is 10 MILES!!  (I am so screwed)

R - Friday - Walk

Cori and I had a nice walk w frankie.  Her hands got a little cold at the end but other than that it was cool we actually had some nice conversation.  Granted a lot of it was about poop but I guess that is what life is all about really?  Don't you think?  ;)

R - Wed back home!!!!

Gym!   I was hoping to do Zumba and I kinda did.  The instructor showed up late and told us she had just gotten a call and was in bed an hour ago!  She said she didn't teach Zumba and wouldn't be insulted if we left.

She had such great energy and a positive attitude most of us stayed!  We helped her through the class and it wasn't so bad.  At the end, I think she got kind tired of trying to come up with stuff so we just did some abs.

R - Tuesday the 1st

Day 4 - qi workshop!!!

Level 1 and Level 2 qigong plus stretching.  Pretty good.  I still don't like having my feet still for that long.  Trying to decide if I should get over it or just look for a different form (not level 1)

We also did the 9 breath thing again... still don't quite get it.  I've decided since I am a mouth breather maybe I am not getting enough oxygen to get the full effect since we are breathing through our noses?  I donno. 

Late we did wuji qigong.  I really liked this.  It was kind of a freestyle thing.  The only drawback was you had to avoid running into people as you were walking around the room.  After this, we had a lecture on something ugh... I can't remeber what he called it but it was about geometry in nature.  He talked about the pyramids and the coral castle and phi.  Have you ever been to the coral castle?  It is in FL.  Sounds really cool.

After this I just had to leave.  I was fried.  It was only and hour or two to go but I just really wanted to be home.  I had to forfeit 8 CEU since I didn't stay all day but I don't really need them so it's not that big of a deal.  24 is good for me!  :)

Anyway, you should check this guy out.  qirevolution.com  He lives in FL and is doing the same workshop in Orlando I think?  99 bucks for 32 CEUs.  Pretty cheap!  Overall, I liked it... it was just some long days and he took extremely long breaks! (sorry for the ramble)

R - Monday (28th)

Missed zumba :(

Day 3 - qi workshop

Came a little late and missed part of his first lecture on people who died an came back.  Did level 2 qigong again and learned walking qigong... kinda cool wish we spent more time with that.  Also learned his '9 breath method' Didn't do much for me but a LOT of people had amazing experiences.  At then end of the day he set up the chairs in the snaky kind of circle so 500 people cold hold hands.  We did a meditation w/ 9 breath method.  I liked it at first but then it went on a little long for me.

I decided to stay the night in Bmore so I wouldn't have to deal with traffic and had a little break.  Went to little italy and whole foods.  Then I watched garbage tv at the hotel.  Some show called 'cake boss'?  So weird.

Night would have been awesome if it weren't for my noisy neighbors at 12:00 pm and at 3:00 am!!!  argh!  I just wanted a nice nights sleep!

R - Sun -27th

Day 2 - qi workshop

Did level 1 again and level two.  Liked level two better.  My favorite was the bow.  Learned more about healing foods and tried his smoothie.  Not bad but I'm not 'drinking the koolaide'  :D

Feeling even more exhausted.  Annoyed because the workshop ran late and I missed bedtime at home.  :(

R - Sat 26th

Day 1 of qi workshop

Level 1 qigong = very hard  especially the parts where we held our heads over our heads!  I was a little sore from Fridays workshop but not too bad.  We also did this crazy warrior breathing exercise and my hands got all crazy tingly and my head was starting too as well.

Learned about healing foods.  Was a good day overall but tiring!

R - Friday, 25th - Urban Dance = fail

I decided to randomly try the 'Urban Dance' class.  I hated to do it but I left after 15 minutes.  I felt so bad/rune but needed to cut my losses.  It was a fine class, I just didn't like the format, music, or the enerfy of the teacher.  It was one of those classes where you learn 8 steps, then another 8 and string them together and then another 8 etc etc.  Music lame and her voice not helping me.

So I did 4 rounds:
kettle bell swings x 20 w pink kettle bell (can't remember the weight)
h pull-ups x15
push-ups x 20 (10 boy/10 girl)
lame floor washers x alternating 10 per side followed by 20 quick chest press with the bar  (just cause)

Felt like a decent workout... against better judgment since I was about to do a 4 day workshop the next day!  ugh!

A- cardio

Started with push ups- did 4 sets, 15 reps each- (first one man style, second female style, third man style, fourth female style)

Treadmill-  10 minutes (Ran for 7 minutes 6.1mph, walked for 3)
Eliptical- 30 minutes level 7, weight loss setting.
Recumbant Bike- 10 minutes, random hill

Stretched- feeling gooooood =)   happy saturday Ms Robin! Hope I see you on here soon- it's getting boring just writing and reading my own stuff ;)

A- Supersets- upper body 3.4.11

Super sets- arms- 4 super sets.
-Biceps- seated bicep curls - unilateral, 12 pounds (started with 10 but it was just toooo easy ;)) , 15 reps
-Triceps-  kick backs - unilateral.  8 pounds. challenging, but able to keep form.

Super sets- back and chest 4 sets
-Chst-ez bar 30 pounds , flat press.  still felt a little too light- but I was intimidated by the 40 pound ez bar that's "pre weighted"- next time I'll make my own for 35 pounds ;)
- Back - 15 pounds- DB row. unilateral.

Abs and lower back-
Bent over that back extention thing....  3 sets of each side and prone postition.  Started at 8 reps, 12 pounds/ then 10 reps 10 pounds/ then 12 reps- no weights.      I was trying for strength training, but realized half way through that I had done it backwards!  lol   Should have gone up in weight, and down in reps.  Oh well...

Then I did some planks on the half ball thingy, lifting my legs....

Finished with cardio for 20 minutes- fat burner, arc trainer, level 7

A- Zumba wth Awilda 3.3.11

Fun!  the woman is a bit overweight, but she can MOVE it! =)  Plus she clearly loves all the latin music since she's latin (not sure what country) ;)

A- March 1st Weights, lower body, super sets

10 minutes warm up on arc trainer (I REMEMBERD the name! lol)

First 2 workouts in (3 sets each) superset format:

1- DB squats, 10 pounds, 15 reps
2- lateral jumping squats.  20 total per set

2nd Super set  (4 sets each) format

1- Prone bilateral hamstring - 30 pounds, 13 reps
2-seated calf press- 150 pounds, 13 reps

3rd superset (3 sets each) format

1- hanging leg lifts- 13? 10?  can't remember =(
2- rear lunge squeeze  - 10 reps each leg per set       ?  (not sure what to call this workout- imagine a lung position, with your back foot/toes on the half balance ball thingy.  Each rep was I focused on squeeeeeezing my glutes although my front leg did bend, all my weight was on the back leg. )
Looots of stretching afterwards (as always) but I really focused on my groin muscles and inner thighs- they are and have been for weeks- SUPER tight and kinda "burny"... I need my facia work! time for another massage.

A- Cardio machines

40 minutes total...

Running: felt really good for the first 15 minutes (ran 5 minute spurts with 3 minute walks... the last 5 minutes was torture.  stomach cramp plus had to pee- again. then the neasea hit me. - that was it for my running session)

Recumbant Bike- 20 minutes (fat burner setting level 5 out of 10)  Muuuuch better- still fighting neasea but much better...

uuhg.  not a good day for a workout- but I may have felt even worse if I hadn't gone- I feel pretty good now- just had some bread and honey... I'll have some steak and veggies later

A Feb 26th Swimming

That's right!  Swtiching it up now that it's hot... I have never been able to swim for very long - just like running it was toooooo much of a strain for my lungs.  My body would say MORE and my lungs would say STOP! 

I think with all the interval training (and subsequently running) that I've been doing, my lung capacity has increased during excersize!  I'm SO happy! 

I did a little over 20 minutes of laps (didn't count).  Just went back and forth, wall to wall.  Alternating rounds with and without the kickboard to give my arms a break since I did upper body yesterday. Froggy style (whatever that's called); scissor kickes; on my back.  I could have kept going- although I was pretty tired- but daycare ends early on Sat.   I felt sorta light headed for the first 5 minutes after excersizing, so it was probably good that I stopped.   

Cole and I went swimming then for an hour- he had so much fun! I had a nice time too... we changed and ( this has nothing to do with working out  ;)  )   had a picnic lunch poolside- great saturday

A Feb 25th Super sets! upper body

Okay, I THINK that's what they're called (don't feel like looking it up)
Did 3 sets of these:
Jumping Jacks- 20; Biceps- 15 reps, 12 pounds; Tri- 20 pound EZ bar skull crushers, 15 reps

Then did 3 sets of these:
1st- bunny hops with knees to chest jump- 10 of those;  Back- bent over EZ bar row, 30 pounds, 15 reps;
Chest- incline dumbell flys, 12 pounds, (started at 15- too much for super sets!!) 15 reps.
2nd 20 mountain climbers, Back, Chest
3rd 20 mountain climbers, Back Chest.
Finished with 20 knees to chest jumps
Heart rate was going!  But not tooooo crazy since I was letting myself have 30-60 seconds or so between sets...  Nice switch up from what I've been doing.

Then did low back extensions- 2 sets of 15.  felt it more in my legs again, and need to give them a break, so I didn't do the third set.  Did One minute long plank in push UP position.
Realized I was short on time- went on to stretching as I've been SUPER DUPER not cool tight in my lower body...  After my massage the night before, I'm getting much better gains =)  All that skin rolling was worth it! =)

Went to Civic center.  Decent walk... mental note:  Do not wear nice leather gloves when your dog keeps finding pieces of deer to gnosh on.  ugh!  ack!  yuck!

Didn't want to get deer nastiness on my gloves so I took them off and then had to try to get deer parts out of his mouth without getting it all over my bare hands!!!  I know you wanted to hear about this.  :-P

A Feb 22nd. Cardio and floorwashers ;)

Oh yeah, I did em- Loved the floorwashers... Tell you what though- I think I need a heavier bar than 20 pounds.  It really wasn't hard till the last half of my 3rd set so I did a 4th...

By the way, today is the first day that I got called back to the child care to change Cole's poopy diaper, only to find out that they had the wrong Kid- it was not Cole lol- time to change his pic on the card, as he no longer lookes like a 2 year old ;)

Started with cardio- eliptical for 15 minutes,  cross training setting- went backwards a lot- liked it =)

Did my floorwashers- 20 pound ez bar, 4 sets of 20 reps (each side was a rep so if you count ONE as a left AND right lift, then I did 10 reps per set) 

Row machine, 10 min- highest resistance... I never know if I'm doing it correctly, or in a way that gives me peak performance/resistance... My abs were definetely sore from though which I'm sure is from diong the floorwashers first =)

Elpitical with arms thingy- forgot the name- again.  10 minutes, level 9 fat burner. 
Tough to stretch my left leg - it's getting more stiff- probably from the horseback riding- I spent extra time doing slow stretches to get my left leg a little more open/relaxed

Uh YES it was a workout... But I wasn't counting it as one until tonight (feb 22) ;)  I'm super tight and pretty sore in the upper unner thighs- musta been all that hardcore cantering/running we were doing- I was squeezing to save my life lol- Haven't ran on a horse like that since I was 12 =D 
Oh and my right bicep and forearm are super sore form gripping the saddle to keep from flying off lol

R - Zumba...

Yeah, I thought I'd nothing to say, you know another day of Zumba.  How interesting is that? but no there were a couple of things that happened today to make the class more interesting.  First, the class was packed.  I was trying to find a place to stand but these two hos didn't like me standing next to them so they told me to go elsewhere.

I totally get it, I hate it when people crowd me after I already claimed my spot.  Nevertheless it totally pissed me off... just deal with it (or at least be nicer about it)!!!  GRRR!  I went elsewhere but was still annoyed off and on through the class.  I looked back at the scowlier (is that a word?) of the two periodically and she sucked.  She didn't have bad rhythm but she barely moved her arms and legs.  Anyway, it made me feel a little better knowing that she sucked... hehe.

The other thing that happened was that the class got totally over heated.  No joke the mirrors started steaming up and they ended up opening the doors.  I guess it was just too many people.  Workout was intense... partially because of the heat and I was closer to Andres than usual... maybe that made me work harder?  I donno... anyway it was mostly good except for those two women.

R - Nada

Well, I just wasn't feeling 100% today.  I wanted to do a race but I was still a little sore from my run on Fri and my back kinda hurt.  I sort of wish I'd done it but deep down I know not doing it was the right thing to do.

Did two massages and some yard work but I can't say that really counts as significant exercise.  Sara was sick today.  :(  Hope she's better by tomorrow!

A feb 17th

Wieghts- upper body:
started with biceps- hammer curls, 3 sets, 12 pounds- very hard at the hand- had trouble keeping form in the last 4 reps of 3rd set... whew!

Triceps pulldown (with rope)- 30 pounds, 4 sets, 15 reps

Chest cable flys (shoulder height, workin mid chest)  20 pounds, 3 sets, 15 reps

Dumbell Row, 3 sets? 4 sets? , 20 pound barbell, 15 reps

straight legged deadlift.  40 pound ez bar, 4 sets, 15 reps...   I know this works your hams too, but isn't it supposed to work your back too?  I just couldn't feel it in my back this time... time to switch it up!

Core-   4 sets of planks (front, left and right- left and right with 15 side squeezes for each set)

Push ups- on the half ball thingy- 10 reps, 3 sets with back and forth and up and down rocking on the half ball between sets.

R - Zumba.

It was decent, my energy is better but not awesome.  I don't really like going to Rockville for some reason for Zumba.  I like Olney's longer rectangular studio vs Rockville's shorter squarer studio.  I think that's it.  I donno... probably just what I am used to.  Plus, the class was super crowded today.  Isn't it about time for those New Year's people to drop off?

R - MIA

Ugh!  Sorry to be MIA lately.  I have been working out but I have also missed quite a few days to being sick!  It is so frustrating!!!  This week Cori gave Mark and I a wonderful stomach bug!  Talk about miserable... nothing like losing weight and doing an unscheduled detox (if you know what I mean ;) )

Anyway, I did some light light cardio today... just some arc trainer and recumbent bike.  It was lame but I didn't want to push my luck.

I did get a nice run in on the TM last week and then I got sick!  I also went to Zumba on Wed and am hoping to go again tomorrow... oh and I got a nice jumprope, push-up, h pull-up, kettle bell swing, floor wiper workout in.... that's all I can remember off the top of my head.  I'm sure there were some not so interesting cardio workouts mixed in there!  ;)

Trying to get better/ stay better... hopefully I will get back on track soon.. it's tough when you get derailed with sick kids and sick self!  (but I know you already know that!)

A- Feb 15th Wii Fit

Alright, was only gonna do a light but long cardio at the Ymca today so when Cole kept throwing fits I figured we wouldn't go to the Y and I would try the Wii =)

It was fun- i earned 1 hour and 10 minutes/ "credits"
30 minutes before Cole's nap and 40 minutes during his nap.

The hoola hooping was actually the hardest!
I ran in place as well.
Plus did the aerobic step (very low step... I was sweating but probably from the other excersizes ;)

did 2 yoga balance practices with it as well.... that's it!  but it was fun, I did get very sweaty, so I think it was actually working me out! =)

A -Feb 13th Cardio/lower body weights

Switched it up today- did my weights first:
Decline seeated leg press (pressing up not the one pressing down where you're almost standing)
90 pounds, 3 sets, 15 reps.  Hard at the end! 
Calf presses- 4 sets, 130 pounds- 15 reps each/-  2 sets straight, 1 set inverted, 1 set pointed out.
Abductor thigh machine- 50 pounds, 4 sets, 13 reps
Adductor machine- 40 pounds 4 sets 13 reps
Bent over (glutes) posterior leg press- 4 sets, 20 pounds, 15 reps.

balanced squats on the half yoga ball thingy- 4 sets, 13 reps

Cardio, arc trainer- 20 minutes, fat burner setting, level 6
Done!  It's feb 15th now and i'm "good" sore =)

A- Feb 11 Zumba

Yet again, I ended up in "Jean"s class.... uuhg.  It was a little better this time cause I was in the front and could watch her like a hawk... she DOES direct, but it's impossible to see unless you're close to her...

I'll keep that in mind if I end up with her again....  one other complaint: 
although i sweated quite a bit, it felt like it only got intense for one song... and not even the whole song.... WHY did I take the class if I knew i didn't like her? Weeeelllll I was hoping it was the Other Jean- I'll look out for Jean L ;)  to try her out... 

Oh and I did jack-knifes with a medium ball- 3 sets of 8 reps... then stretching...

A Feb ninth cardio/upper body

Back from cali-

no running till I get new ear buds... my replacements are falling out and the good ones burned out : /

Cardio glider eliptical thing for 20- hill interval. 
Weights upper body- 
standing tricep overhead pull down - 40 pounds, 4 sets 15 reps.  great burn! =)
EZ bar bicep curls- 25 pounds, 3 sets 15 reps
Chest flys- inclined and flat.  2 sets of each.  12 pound bar bells, 15 reps. 
Lat pull downs- 4 sets- 2 behind 2 in front.  40 pound behind, 50 pounds in front (I think!!- can't remember) 15 reps.
Back extrentions, no weights, but using arms (raising them above me, or our out like I'm flying) with each rep.   4 sets 10 reps =)

Great workout... loving the mix of cardio and weights right now =)  Where are you?  Have you been working out?

A feb. 4th

REALLY didn't want to go to the gym today... but I knew I wouldn't be able to go back till at least Tues after my trip to Cali- leaving tomorrow, back on Mon night.

Interval running- 20 min, 2 min @ 3.5miles alternating with 3 min @ 6.5 miles.  Exhausted and bored- really couldn't face doing ANY more cardio so I did legs after that:

-Walking/floating lunges with 15 pd dumbells in each hand. 4 sets, 10 reps (5 each leg)
-Seated leg extentions... had to bring my weight down from 50- 30 pounds- finally comfortable but still achieving the burn and keeping form.  4 sets, 13 reps.
-standing  Adduction (ant and post) legs with ankle belts.  15 pounds...  4 sets, (15 ant, 15 post reps)  FEEL THE BURN =)
-Standing Abduction-  post (sort of like a side kick movement or direction)  4 sets, 13 reps, 15 pounds.

This was a GREAT workout.  I feel refreshed and excited to use the ankle belts again =D  Woohoo!
Too bad I'm gonna be SUPER SORE while sitting on planes tomorrow for 8 hours or so lol

A Feb 2

Interval running 20 min.  (3.5 for 2 min then 6.0 for 3 min)
Eliptical thing with arms (STILL can't remember it lol! It comes to me, only when I'm NOT writing the blog ;)) 20 min interval, level 6
Hanging Leg raises- 3 sets of 15 reps.  very hard to complete the last set with good form--- kept pausing to rest for a second or two so I could keep my form...

also- my hams are pretty sore from the straight legged dead lift.
I'm also finally realized/admitted to myself that I have a slight tear at my SITS hamstring attachment on the left side.  Taking it very easy with stratching... No more YOGA for me... I just can't help but push myself too far.

A Jan 31st.

Family gym day =)
I did the eliptical for 20 min.  Off to Upper body Weights:
-Skull Crushers- 30pound EZ bar, 3 sets, 15 reps.
-Bicep curls- EZ bar 30 pounds, close grip, 3 sets, 13 reps.
-Incline press- Dumb bells, 15pounds each, 3 sets, 15 reps
-bent over Lateral raise- 15 pounds each dumbbell, 3 sets 13 reps.  Unfortunately, I couldn't remember the proper form until my last set ugh! 
-Stiff Legged Deadlift- 30 pound ez bar, 3 sets, 15 reps... too light.  SHoulda' gone for a 40 pound bar.

Cole was sick the last few days so I cancelled our Mommy meet-up playdate at a park, but he was looking good enough to do a quick play at the YMCA.  Glad that he's actually less snotty today! =)   

R - ZUMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you are probably tired of hearing about Zumba.  I donno why I am so obsessed with Andres.  I almost missed it today.  Cori is kinda sick (coughing) but I took her anyway.  For a minute I thought Sara was going to have to stay home from school... but I think she was just tired and didn't feel like going.

Anyway, I wish you coulda been there.  new music!  I think he went a little crazy with his new mix.  Some of the songs are like 15 sec then another 15 sec song then onto another.  Makes it hard to get a rhythm especially for me!  It was fun though and he was full of energy today.

R - Saturday (29th)

Did get to go to they gym but wasn't feeling it.  Warmed up on the arc trainer.  Then did four rounds:

500 Erg, Lunges, push-ups.

Was sore from that!

jan 29th

W/o at the YMCA today =)  Back from my trip and ready to get back into my schedule...
did 15 and 15- first eliptical with arms and finish on the rec bike...  felt good but I'm still SUPER tired from not sleeping for a day when I driving back from New Orleans.  Kept it light... I feel like I need a CLEANSE from all of my drinking lol.

did 25 minutes (not much time for w/o with all of our tours =))  on an eliptical with the arms- can't remember the name of those....  didn't want to stop, felt GOOD!  but I had to in order to be on time for an upcoming 3 hour tour... it rocked by the way =)    I did SO much walking while in New Orleans- with all the sights to see, it was never boring and I really enjoyed the fresh cool air while we were there... the heat here already feels stifling.... and it's not even freakin hot yet.

Jan 13th, 21, and 23

I worked out Jan 11 (posted below) then again on the 13th- can't remember what I did - then I got sick AGAIN and back in the gym-
 21st did kickboxing- loved it!
Last work out before vacation was on the 23rd... just a cardio - 20 minute running and 5 suicides in the gym.... VERY sore from kickboxing on the 21st... ...

R - this week

It's been a bit of a rough week for working out.  On Tuesday I did manage to take Frankie but Wednesday and Thursday my only workout was shoveling snow!  bleh.  Today was my b-day.  No power yesterday or today.  No school = no childcare at the gym.

So we are staying at my MILs house and although it's been a blessing to have somewhere to go this is not what I envisioned for my b-day.  I did manage to run/walk on their treadmill for a bit.  Other than that today I've had a sick baby and dead fish to deal with.  double bleah.  sorry to be a downer but I just needed to rant a little.

I am hoping the power comes back on tonight and we can go home for real tomorrow AND maybe I'll even get to work out!

R - no zumba = torture

So, today I was all excited to get back to Zumba since I missed it last week (due to Sara have a b-day party to attend).  So I called to make a childcare reservation (because Olney is lame you have to call ahead) and they were overbooked so they couldn't offer childcare for me! Grrrr!

So I just went to Layhill FF.  No one was in that childcare!  blah... anyway, I just really had trouble motivating myself to do something else.  I got on the arc trainer for 10 min and then saw people starting to file in for a spinning class.  I figured, hey, why not?  So I went... it was horrible... it was torture.  Not because it was hard, but because the music was lame and the instructor was lame!  I almost left but I didn't want to be a quitter so I stuck it out!  The music was not intense enough.. it was like Peter Gabriel type stuff.  Not that I don't Peter Gabriel I just generally don't want to work out to him.  The whole workout was us going up a steep hill and then s-l-o-w-e-l-y going back down. 

I did get a decent workout it was hard.  Just not intense in the way I like.  :(

R - shovel + gym

I SO needed a good workout today.  My efforts were thwarted in the am since school was closed so (this means the gym daycare is closed) So I just shoveled ice all morning.  Talk about annoying exercise!

Luckily, they opened the daycare for the evening so we went!!

20 min intense intervals on recumbent bike!

felt so awesome afterward!  yeah!!

R - gym FAST!

Well, after feeling like a bum over the weekend I did go to the gym.  I felt AWESOME when I got there.  All caffienated and energetic.  Didn't have much tie since we were due at a b-day party at 10:00 am.

Originally, I was going to do 30 min of crazy cardio but then I just decided to lift instead:

5 min maniac warm-up on arc trainer
4 rounds:
10 burpees
10 horizontal push-ups
10 floor wipers

ok the burpees killed me and the floor wipers didn't exactly make it all the way to the floor but it was a decent workout! 

Got on the scale...  don't know why... guess I was just curious.  I have definitely put on some winter pounds.  Guess we all need a little extra padding in the winter.  ;)

Walk with Frank.  ALONE!!!  yeah!  Nice, but weird day.  :)

Decided to take it easy today.  Went to Victoria's Secret to verify what I was sure to be true.  Yep, my boobs have shrunk!  Blah... I am a little sad about it... but I guess I lost them with those crazy babies... there are much worse things.

R - Cardio

Yeah, it was HARD today!  It's funny how even on days you don't want to go you can often end up being pretty intense.  Went late to the gym since Sara's school has a two hour delay.  Had fun in the snow though!

20 min Gauntlet Level 11+?  Can't remember... what I do remember was that I was dying and had it at level 12 toward the end and refused to put it down lower since there wasn't so far to go... AHHH!

20 min arc trainer... you got me stuck on this interval thing.  I decided to mix it up with the length of intervals.  I first tried 30 sec/60 sec but that seemed too long recovery.  So I ended up doing 30 sec/45 sec.  30 seconds is a long time to be intense!  But I got my rhythm after a while.

R - walk

yay!  Got to take Frankie for a walk.  He was so happy.  Coru fell asleep during the walk... hasn't done that in a while.  It was kinda nice.  :D

R - Mon Zumba

Same old Zumba.. Pretty intense today though!  woo hoo!

Jan 11th cardio plus intverval cardio class!

Whoa... so I ran for 15 minutes as a warm up, then stretched. A LITTLE nauseas but still full of energy.
Went to my first "Interval Cardio" class- (1 hour) holy crap- it was intense and there was about 5 minutes where the step coreography was so complicated that I couldn't get it! lol I was ALMOST ready to leave if it was just gonna get harder/more complicated.  It was intense, (double stack step, 5 pund BB, 8 pd bar) 
All in all a great class.  I'll do it again! Definetely ready to hurl by the end of the class (smh)
I left 10 min early when the abd w/o begin as crunches are SO bad and painful for my soine/rods.

Ravenously hungery when I got home =)

Jan 9th Cadio and upper body

MAN did I have some interuptions today... plus some emotional upheaval from Cole.
5 minutes into my cardio on the arc trainer, I had to go change Cole's ppopy diaper- he THOUGHT he was on time out cause they asked him to wait for me... this upset him and I explained to him that he was not in trouble- he just needed to wait for me... but he still seemed confused and said 2 more times- "I got put on timout"... (SMH)    the next interruption was cause Cole's nose was bleeding and he was crying in a corner and wouldn't calm down. (arrrrrrrg!! I hate other little kids hmph!)  Fortunately he made his OWN nose bleed by picking it but did have a boo-boo on his head from being knocked around by some other older boys (probably not on purpose- just all trying to climb and play at the same time, in the same area)  The problem is that after Cole got bullied this christmas- he's been VERY clingy, more passive, and yet very challanging to Chris and I) 
Anyway... I talked with him and the day care lady, asked him to color and told him to get back in there and play sending him with hugs and kisses.   I'm extremely happy and proud to say that he did just that =)
I refuse to teach him to run away from things that scare him...
BACK to cardio- same machine- weight loss setting...  decided I was only gonna do 20 minutes as I was feeling completely unmotivated at this point. Finished and went to lift weights...
Upper body-  strngth training
decided to keep it "old school"- no waights.  (but I DID use the assisted dips and pull ups machine)
SO-- started with strength training
 Dips 70 pounds assist- 10  reps. waited a min. 64 assist- 8 reps.  rested a min.  58 assist- 6 reps.
Pull ups (palms facing away from me)  same weight and rep as for the dips.  REALLY focused on form and taking my time with each rep.  MAYBE coulda used less assist for the dips....

jack-knifes (on a yoga ball)  4 sets- 8-9 reps per set. did 4 sets of man pushups at 10 reps each.
alternated sets/excersizes.  Wrists were kinda hurting, so the last 2 sets of pushups, I used that half yoga ball thing with my hands on the rim- MUCH better.

Started to feel on the verdge of clumsly or dizzy.   stretched and got outta there.   Sorry this one was so long... I know this is not a diary ;) 

Jan 7th cardio/yoga

Went to the gym with the fam.
Chris and I ran next to eachother... (I got to the gym too late for my kickboxing)
I did interval running for 20 minutes.  
Then went straight to yoga for an hour... whoa.  I haven't felt the lateral edges of my legs working in FOREVER. =)  I was pleasantly sore the next night =)  Yoga was great... although I forgot to bring my matt so I had to use the gym's matt-- ew.  :P
Felt spent but reallllllllly good at the end.

Home in MD- w/o Jan 5th

Night time workout... rushed cause the childcare closes at 8...

Did 30-40 minutes of cardio... arc and jogging...  stretched....  Still feeling that sinus infection but ALMOST gone.

That's all I got- read above ;)      no seriously though- that class was awesome.   "Show ME what you have!! SHOW MEEE!!!"  lol he was a TRIP. 

FYI this was the first workout I'd had in 2 weeks since Dec 23rd....

20 min recumbent bike - did the Aly intervals but mixed it up and randomly did 4 x 42 second intervals in addition to the regular ones.  woo hoo!

R - Gym

Today I was lacking in any kind of creativeness or ideas for workouts.  I feel like I haven't lifted in ages and didn't want to do cardio for the millionth time sooo:

10 min warm-up (arctrainer)

4 rounds:
1 min jump rope
15 kettle bell swings
20 push-ups (10 reg/10 girl)
15 lat pull down
15 ball ab pass

intensity was medium.. not feeling so hard core but not horrible once I got going

R - walk

So on Wednesday I was still feeling blah but felt so guilty about Frankie not getting a walk for a while I took him on the horse trail (inner loop) for a VERY short walk.  Like 20 min.  It was cold and not much fun but I was glad he could get out!

R - Nada

Finally caught up on this blog!  I really want/need to take Frankie for a walk today but it is really not gonna happen.  I once again have no energy.  I just can't seem to get completely better.  Blah.

Took Cori to the doctor today.  Poor thing got pricked, prodded and shots too!  She made it through pretty well though.

R - Zumba

I went to Zumba with that Buff Biotch Aly.  She kicked ass!  I wish  could be half as coordinated as she it.  Glad she could make it!

Class was ok.  Energy was decent.  I enjoyed it but Andres could use some new music.  He said he is going to have something new soon.  yay!

R - Sunday

Nada.  I worked and just felt crappy all day mostly.  :(  No energy... blah...

R - NYD 5k!

Did a 5k with a friend of mine.  She really hasn't run for over a year (she had  baby in July).  It was good.  We just took it nice and easy and had a good time.

R - NYE Gym

I managed to just barely squeeze in a workout before I had to work.  It was INTENSE!  I got there and the gym was packed.  No arc trainer so I had to go on the gauntlet!

That thing kicked my ass.  level 9-11 for 20 min!

Then I did those crazy intervals that my friend Aly does on the recumbent bike for 20 min.  What's wrong with that woman?  :P

good workout.  Felt great afterward!

R - walk

'twas a short walk at the civic center with BOTH kids.  Went to the playground... got very dark.

R - Yoga?!

Crazy, I did yoga today.  It was so hard!  Will have to do more to get better. 

R - gym

On Tuesday I went to the gym.  Hmmm... wonder what I did.  Oh I KNOW:

20 recumbent bike w/ intervals ack!

R - Slacking again...

I don't know why I haven't been posting.  I HAVE been working out!  Didn't over Christmas weekend since my parents were visiting though.  Weekends seem to be hard to get to the gym.
